It Doesn't Have to Feel This Way
Distorted thinking, or cognitive distortions, refers to a pattern of thinking that doesn’t necessarily match objective reality. For example, an individual may view a minor setback as evidence that they are a failure. Not being invited to an event may cause someone to leap to the conclusion that the host doesn’t like them. Catastrophizing, black-and-white thinking, or focusing only the negative aspects of a situation are all examples of distorted thinking. Distorted thinking may be a habit, built up over a lifetime, and it can be corrected with expert treatment.
Distorted perception includes more serious symptoms, including hallucinations that can be visual or auditory, or involve the other senses. Some people smell or taste sensations that others do not, sometimes the result of medication, trauma, or a mental health condition. Delusions and distortions may cause a range of symptoms, including behavior and mood changes and even changes in appetite.

Can Ketamine Help?
Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy

The Acheron team, which specializes in individualized treatment for a wide range of issues, has expertise in this unique medical therapy, especially when other treatments have not succeeded.
Find out more about ketamine-assisted therapy
Under the supervision of a Harvard-trained M.D., your ketamine treatment at Acheron is a healing experience for mind, body, and soul.
How Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy Works
At low doses, ketamine-assisted therapy helps relax psychological defenses, enhances emotional processing, and makes therapy more productive.
At higher doses, it can induce a psychedelic experience – a rare, profound window for deep healing, emotional exploration, and personal growth. With thorough preparation, a supportive environment, and a trusted therapeutic relationship, ketamine therapy can unlock one of the most powerful forces in mental health: your own internal healing wisdom.
We honor this sacred medicine by weaving it with deep psychotherapy, mindful medication management, and healing community events that nourish your whole being. Research shows ketamine treatment can be particularly effective when traditional treatments have failed.
