Exploring your relationship with substances can feel overwhelming, but you don’t have to do it in isolation. Growth Without Shame offers a supportive, compassionate space to connect with others who are navigating similar questions. Together, we’ll examine the underlying emotions, patterns, and values tied to your substance use, while fostering insight, self-compassion, and healthy change.

In this group, we’ll discuss:

  • Understanding the emotional roots of substance use

  • Reducing shame and cultivating self-compassion

  • Identifying unmet needs and healthier coping mechanisms

  • Exploring your values and aligning your actions

  • Releasing guilt and embracing a new perspective

This group is about reclaiming your power, your clarity, and your relationship with substances - without shame.

Start Date: 10/7/25

When: Tuesdays, 5:15 PM - 6:15 PM (In-person)

Where: 11 Broadway Suite 930, NYC (Acheron Psychiatry)

Dates: Ongoing in 8-week segments

Who: Adults exploring their substance use

Led by: Darcy Montana, MHC-LP & Danielle Andreotta, LMFT

Cost: In-network with Aetna and Cigna. OON superbills available.

About the Facilitators

Darcy Montana, MHC-LP’s approach blends compassion, lived experience, and professional expertise in helping individuals navigate their relationship with substances. She knows that true healing begins with a safe and open environment. Her work is centered on self-awareness, empowerment, and creating space for personal growth.

Danielle Andreotta, LMFT is a licensed therapist specializing in trauma-informed care and relational healing. She believes that healing is an integrative process, one that respects your individuality and allows you to explore your patterns from a place of curiosity and respect. Danielle offers a strengths-based, collaborative approach to uncover the root causes of behavior and empower long-term change.

Together, Darcy and Danielle offer a deeply informed and compassionate approach to group therapy, supporting you on your journey to greater self-understanding and growth.

  • The group runs for 8 weeks with weekly 60-minute sessions. Each session will help you dive deeper into your personal patterns and provide support for lasting change.

  • You will explore the emotional roots of your substance use, identify unmet needs, and learn healthier ways to cope. You’ll also work on reducing shame and developing self-compassion, while aligning your actions with your values.
