Lucia works best with individuals seeking support and healing in a compassionate, nonjudgmental space. Whether you’re navigating trauma (which includes complex trauma), grief and loss, relationship challenges, substance use, or a difficult life transition, Lucia aims to create space for greater self understanding, meaningful change, and healing.
Starting therapy can be a vulnerable experience, especially when you’re carrying something that feels overwhelming, confusing, or difficult to put into words. Whether you’re navigating grief and loss, trauma, anxiety, relationship difficulties, substance use, or simply feeling stuck, you don’t have to figure it all out without good, safe support.
I believe that healing begins with feeling safe enough to be honest about what you’re experiencing, without judgment or shame. My approach is compassionate, curious, and collaborative. I aim to meet you where you are while creating space to better understand the experiences, emotions, and patterns that may be difficult to make sense of on your own.
I also believe that meaningful therapy sometimes means going deeper, but never at the expense of your sense of safety or readiness. Together, we can gently unpack what has been weighing on you, make connections between your past and present, and explore new ways of understanding yourself and moving forward. I believe there is hope even when things feel deeply painful or complicated, and that healing doesn’t require erasing or minimizing what you’ve been through.
My hope is that therapy can become a place where you feel genuinely seen and supported, while also developing greater self-understanding, agency, and compassion for yourself. As a creative arts therapist and music therapist, I also recognize that sometimes words aren’t enough. When it feels helpful and appropriate, creative expression can offer another way into experiences that may be difficult to articulate. In the words of Hafez, “Stay close to any sounds that make you glad you are alive.”
Lucia provides psychotherapy for people navigating grief and loss, trauma and complex trauma, anxiety, relationship challenges, substance use, and other concerns that may impact emotional well-being and daily life. As a Licensed Creative Arts Therapist (LCAT) and Board-Certified Music Therapist, she brings a relational, compassionate, and nonjudgmental approach to the therapeutic process. Her work draws from evidence-based psychotherapy approaches, including CBT and DBT, while remaining responsive to your individual needs, goals, and experiences.
Lucia aims to create an environment that is collaborative, grounded, and engaged, where you can explore difficult material while maintaining a sense of safety and agency. Depending on your goals, the work may include making sense of difficult emotions and experiences, developing practical coping and emotion-regulation skills, exploring relationship patterns, and building greater insight into the ways your past may be affecting your present.
Although psychotherapy may primarily involve talking, Lucia also offers the option of integrating music and other expressive arts-based techniques when they may enhance the therapeutic process. Creative approaches can provide another avenue for accessing emotions, memories, relationships, and embodied experiences that may be difficult to express through language alone. Lucia’s passion lies in creating a flexible, individualized therapeutic experience that brings together traditional psychotherapy and creative and expressive approaches, allowing you to find the methods that feel most meaningful and useful to you.
