All of our clinicians are grounded in psychoanalytic theoretical understanding, which takes years of training and clinical experience to master. Learn more about our clinicians here.
On top of that bedrock knowledge, we have adapted to trends in the field driven by both exciting research and patient demand to offer cutting edge psychedelic and integrative treatments!
How long does therapy last?
Treatment needs can usually be measured in the span of years, and might even be “interminable” (per Freud). But it really depends on a number of factors. Trust us that treatment is the furthest thing from coercive; you are always in the driver’s seat when it comes to initiating, continuing, and terminating treatment.
Isn’t listening to people’s problems boring? Why would anyone do this work?
To the contrary, we are proud and excited to do this work. You will be on the road to healing when you begin to understand how interesting, deep, and complex your unconscious mind is!
What is one special meaning of Acheron being located in the financial district of lower Manhattan?
Acheron’s founder was a street level witness to the collapse of the WTC on 9/11/01. By sheer luck (I will not call it the grace of God, as so many died on that terrible day), I was at a safe distance, and my life not directly threatened, but the meaning of that moment was personally indelible as it has been for many across our nation and world. There seemed to be no place more fitting to found a center devoted to healing trauma.
