A message from Darcy

One way to cultivate our inner strength is to establish a connection between the mind and the body. In our modern world, experiencing a disconnect between these vital parts of ourselves is a common struggle (especially with the influx of technology in remote work). With the help of somatics and mindfulness, we can reestablish this connection and really get to know our inner selves; thus enhancing our mental health and overall wellbeing.

When working with me, you can expect to be treated as a person, not a diagnosis. I believe that everyone has their own unique life experiences which have formed them into who they are today, and a diagnosis alone cannot define you. I do this work to give you the space to explore parts of yourself and your life that you have not yet been able to. Perhaps up until this point it didn’t feel safe, you didn’t have anyone to confide in who would respond in a non-judgemental way, or you only recently discovered a particular problem in your life. Whatever the reason may be, I know that exploring the depths of ourselves and our minds can be a challenging journey and you don’t have to navigate it alone.

  • Many of the challenges we face in the present stem from deeply rooted experiences from our past. I use a modern approach to psychoanalysis called object-relations, which explores how our early relationships with caregivers shape the way we connect with others in adulthood. Understanding your early relationships can help uncover patterns that may be keeping you stuck in negative self-thoughts or repeated relationship struggles. Together we can connect the link between the past and the present to help you live as your best self.

I integrate therapeutic modalities that focus on the mind-body connection, such as EMDR, mindfulness, and somatic therapy, with object relations to offer my clients a holistic healing approach. In our sessions, we will take a moment , identify where emotions are felt in the body, while focusing on and engaging with those specific areas through mindfulness. I’ll also share exercises that you can take home and use between sessions.

Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy works beautifully alongside the therapeutic modalities mentioned above, so if you are looking for ketamine treatment, you have come to the right place.
