Expert Help for ADHD
Attention deficit disorder (or attention deficit hyperactivity disorder) is often thought of as cognitive dysfunction, but it’s not a flaw. ADHD is simply a different way the brain manages attention, emotion, and effort. Individuals with ADHD may struggle to complete tasks, or have trouble staying focused or adapting to new situations. Adults with ADHD aren’t lazy, unfocused, or unmotivated — they’re often perceptive, creative, and working twice as hard behind the scenes just to keep up. Many people with ADHD pay a price for their differences — in school, work, relationships, and self-esteem. They’ve tried working harder, getting organized, or relying on stimulants, often without lasting progress.
Unfortunately, most ADHD treatment in the U.S. starts with a 20-minute appointment and a stimulant prescription. It can help — but it rarely solves the underlying problem, and can create new ones over time. At Acheron, we take a different approach. We don’t believe in quick fixes. We believe in understanding how your mind works so your effort finally pays off.
At Acheron, your journey may begin with an ADHD assessment or full neuropsychological assessment to identify your strengths and weaknesses. We will arrive at a thoughtful, precise diagnosis to help develop a treatment strategy. Your treatment plan may include psychotherapy, cognitive remediation therapy (CRT), ketamine-assisted therapy, or other strategies. If you need medication management, we offer that as well. We can also work on a strategy to wean you off your ADHD medications and help you learn to live well without prescription medicine.

What Is Neuropsychological Assessment for ADHD?
Struggling with focus, memory, or changes in thinking or behavior? Neuropsychological assessment helps identify what’s going on – and what to do next.
Patients receive a comprehensive cognitive assessment designed to clarify challenges and guide targeted next steps, including treatment options within Acheron’s integrated neurocognitive care programs like Cognitive Remediation Therapy (CRT) and Ketamine-Assisted Cognitive Remediation Therapy (CRT-K).
For more complex referrals, including assessments that involve non-neurocognitive psychiatric components such as autism spectrum disorder (ASD) or mood-related conditions, we offer an extended assessment. This includes administration and interpretation of the MMPI to ensure deeper diagnostic clarity.

What Is Cognitive Remediation Therapy?
You may have heard of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), which targets self-messaging that contributes to a negative sense of self, depression, and anxiety as well as behaviors that are not conductive to optimal functioning.
For individuals with ADHD, an advanced treatment called cognitive remediation therapy (CRT) integrates elements of CBT to improve focus, memory, and problem-solving while building awareness and resilience.
Our 9-session program includes a one-hour intake session followed by integrated exercises to enhance attentional control, strategic problem-solving, self-efficiency, and self-awareness, promoting cognitive resilience.
The end goal is to develop an empowered sense of self by recognizing natural cognitive strengths and develop strategic tools to optimize cognitive functioning in daily life.
